Enbridge Inc > Dump ENB For BNS ?
View:
Post by FiddyFiddyOddzz on Aug 23, 2022 4:13pm

Dump ENB For BNS ?

BNS after dropping 5.25 % today, is now yielding 5.38 %, ENB is yileding 6.07 %, a mere 0.69 % better than BNS.  Is it worth the risk staying in ENB just for that extra 0.69 % divvy ??
Remember, no one is protesting the banks, no one wants the banks shut down, and banks don't leak causing major environmental catastrophes.  0.69 % difference, is it worth it ?

Hey Fiddy I see you're still working up a storm with your worrying. Good to see that some things never change. As I've always said, my wife & I are incredibly comfortable being 100% invested in 16 TSX dividend income/growth stocks with a similar book value fo each. We are income investors so total returns don't really matter but I can't help but notice that the 16 stocks help ...more

Thanks for the information Sarge, and i appreciate the spread sheet. Your response was much more informative and educational than Quin's grade six response. Man, you sure can spot an Ontarian from a mile away..... Sarge wrote:"Hey Fiddy I see you're still working up a storm with your worrying. Good to see that some things never change. Now we're back to grade 6 name calling to compliment grade 6 responses ?  How juvenile. Quin wrote:"Right back at ya dufus. I didn't "recommend" doing anything, re-read my post, and yes, it was BNS and ENB I was talking about, hence the question I posted in the title. .  BNS yesterday dropped to it's knees faster than a 20 dollar crack wh0re.  I'm not sure if you are aware, but generally speaking it's better to buy a stock when it's dropped 5 % as opposed to when it suddenly ...more

Good, I do not recommend it either. Especially since BNS keeps going down and ENB keeps going up. Go Enbridge! ;-)

Hi, Sarge how is your summer going with the wife your family? Just took a small position in an up and coming baby mid-stream, Tidewater TWM. Lots of projects online for 2023, a baby PPL. I have many holdings similar to your porfolio. Have a Great Day !

I linke Sarge's low/no trade strategy. It reduces a lot of stress. Taking the profit is good but it also reduce the capital available to invest after paying the 25% tax of capital gain. I like BNS two years ago when it dropped so low that it's yield was higher than 6% but sold it after it recovered significantly. BNS is a good stock. As far as I can tell, RY provides best dividend ...more

ENB has no significant infrastructure for delivering electricity, and I don't see how they could obtain it or build it.
Comment by Quintessential1 on Aug 30, 2022 2:40pm
Enbridge currently has about 4% of its cashflow in renewable electricity and electrical power price agreements.   EVs to ICE vehicles are at 1% or less. ENB can expand at the rate of EV penetration to the market. Projects like solar power arrays for their export terminal or powering the pipline compressors can transition to power grid suppliers almost instantaneously if and when pipes ...more

Please sell your ENB and buy BNS.  You are not nearly as annoying over there. ENB will be fine without you and totally worth it. Go Enbridge! ;-)
