Charanjeet Singh, 26, from Mississauga was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. He has since been charged with first-degree murder. Hmmmm, interesting, I wonder if Charanjeet used his kirpan, or did he just use a regular, run-of-the-mill kitchen knife ? https://toronto.citynews.ca/2022/09/19/woman-dead-mississauga-stabbing/

It doesn't say he used a knife.  Perhaps he used an umbrella.
Comment by FiddyFiddyOddzz on Sep 20, 2022 6:52pm
Or perhaps he used a fork or sharpened spoon - time will tell...

Or a broken hockey stick out of the sports isle.

Even an ice skate from that same aisle would do the trick I suppose, maybe even a broken, jagged cricket bat for that matter.   Today's event perhaps might be a cultural mis-understanding. As such, maybe criminal charges should be sensitive to the cultural fact that different people expect their females to be held to a higher standard than traditional colonional norms. Based on the ...more

You just never let an absence of facts prevent you from making a racist inference, do you?

Or maybe he has roots in Canada that go ack as far as yours? https://www.facebook.com/Parsanghera/photos/basw.AbprP6gF-wEoIw4d8gm1R_ihizkI5fFlBSMQLCpbd33mBbo2yRwbc2VI7emRQH70YLe8sGCdV2QNNOKx-qtoZZ4P6OiZv_2VicB_kmtoesWMX_FrdnrRcql1w6k_aJ7cth4SME_Y6w6JbJnaVF9abMcg/2508773272737165/?opaqueCursor=AbrHD3xdlOJ5F0iJnLZaKKsvouP0VpybwEMkZHkZosdfUEBFR2A ...more

Oh perhaps he doesn't have roots here at all and that's why an interpreter was supplied to him in court....

As per the news report : "The witness said shoppers believed the suspect was carrying a gun but then saw that it was a knife." Quin wrote:"Or a broken hockey stick out of the sports isle."

Not the news report that you posted. So.....not a kirpan?
Comment by FiddyFiddyOddzz on Sep 21, 2022 8:54pm
The news report was updated, always watch for updates as it was a "developing" story.   The report didn't specifically mention a "kirpan", but at what blade length does a kirpan become a knife, or vice-versa ?   You seem to be more literate on the subject than I am, so i'll let you explain said differences.  Cheers. I didn't see any updates about a knife or an interpreter but I did see that the victim was his wife which puts it into the domestic disturbance area. From what I know of the kirpan is it is a curved blade which doesn't lend itself to being very stabby. All in all I would say that Canadian Tire only needs to hire armed guards if it intends to protect wives from their husbands.  Its ...more

What's really disturbing is not a single person ran TOWARDS the victim to render assistance.  Everyone in the store said fcuk this, i'm outta here ! Perhaps if one of those customers had been carrying a Glock, that poor woman would still be alive today.... And you think he wouldn't have one? So now you want to turn the Canadian Tire store into the that's not ok coral? No thanks.   I thought you wanted them for personal protection not vigilante policing.
Comment by FiddyFiddyOddzz on Sep 22, 2022 9:53am
Illegal firearms are easy to get, if the accused had of wanted execution by firearm, he woulda been armed. It was a clear choice he made to use a knife as his weapon, perhaps he wanted her to suffer a little more than she would being shot. A responsible, licensed concealed firearm carrying customer, could have possibly saved this woman's life. Certainly her chances of survival would have been ...more

Easier to get than a knife?  Doubt it. You think this was planned?  Doubt that too.
Comment by FiddyFiddyOddzz on Sep 22, 2022 12:04pm
OF COURSE it was planned, that's why the accused was charged with FIRST degree murder. A first degree murder charge is laid when a homicide is both planned, and deliberate. Surely you don't think the accused decided to bury a knife in her because of a spur of the moment in-store argument. I highly doubt he killed her because they couldn't decide what type of new car mats to buy ...more

So many interested in such a short time. One has to ask, is the media doing it's job? Are the police withholding information until the investigation is over? Is the pope an alien? How will this event effect this stock price? Will we ever know?! These questions and others may be answered soon, preferably on some other board.
