Best performing Canadian pipe over the last 5 years in terms of share price. If you got it then the div was and is the juciest too! Go Enbridge! ;-)

Wow, that's quite an interesting surprise. I had to check my Morningstar watchlist for the 4 midstreamers we hold. Here's the table for total annual return (including divys)..ENB by far and away the leader on a 5 year basis but lags PPL and KEY on 1 and 3 years. Still prefer PPL and KEY out of the 4. Yup it all depends on when you got in and at what price. I know you got in well before me so your ACB is probably lower than mine and your yield higher too. This volatility that is being refered to just looks like consolidation to me.  ENB has been in an uptrend since the 2020 lockdowns ended and has been a solid payer for me. It has less shorts than the other pipes too at only 2.17% so I ...more

We actually got in when ENB rolled up ENF in Sept, 2018. Before that, we had held ENF since Sept, 2013 so we have done incredibly well with the combo. Our ACB is now $47.20 as we continue to add as our extra divy income becomes available. ENB may be my least favourite of the midstreamers but overall, I still like it more than most stocks. I am a huge fan of the mdistreamers and think they are all ...more

Like the banks you really can't go too wrong with any of the Canadian mid-streamers. TRP is taking it on the chin right now because of cost over runs on the Coastal Gas Link pipeline. It is a good example of just how well ENB builds pipelines on time and within budget parameters. Go Enbridge! ;-)

I agree on banks and midstreamers being great investments as well as telcos and utilities. That's the onyl 4 sectors my wife & I now own. Coastallink has been a nightmare but it's getting close to the finish line (and I think is all priced in now). ENB still has the potential Line 5 hassles as well as Mainline contracting rules clouding its future.  Ciao   Sarge ...more

Coastal Gas Link is probably priced in but only if they finish on time. Is TRP still running at reduced rates on its Keystone line? II know everyday that ENB is running Line 5 they are making bank on a line that paid for itself decades ago.  That keystone line is kinda new to be leaking so soon. Most analysts agree that the mainline tolling will be settled soon,  proabably before CGL ...more

Glad you asked red Canadian oil producers have reached the light at the end of the pipeline – the Line 93 pipeline The benefits of the new 1,765-kilometre pipeline from Alberta to Wisconsin are clear after just three months of full service, says a leading energy analyst.   Meanwhile in Minnesota, where the final leg of the pipeline was completed in October, business ...more

Hey QUINN__Looks like ENB Line 3 Costs DID INCREASE Over Original Estimates__But NOT as Much as TRP Coastal Link or TransMountain. Could be a LOT Easier putting in a pipeline on the Flat Prairies compared to working in the Mountains https://financialpost.com/commodities/energy/enbridge-says-line-3-replacement-will-cost-1-billion-more-than-expected
Comment by Quintessential1 on Apr 27, 2023 6:17am
Could be red but should that not be taken into account when estimating the budget? Coastal Gas Link is over budget by 115%. More if they do not finish on time now. Line 93 went over by 15% which is why I say it is within budget parameters. A lot of construction projects go over by by an amount that is considered acceptable. Over double is obviously seriously flawed budgeting.   With ...more
