Just sold mine

I'll be able to buy it back in the few days or so much cheaper as soon as it goes ex divy,  make a lot more than just collecting the divy and holding.

Congrat .... my original goal was 55 and change to 60$ I'm tempted to sell but as I look at previous ex dividend Nov 14 the stock kept going up feb 14 2024 also kept going up only in may 14 it went down but mostly du to slower interest cut so I conclude since the cpi is at 3 the fed will cut twice and Canada 3 more we should hit 60$ ..... but hey good luck but I don't see a big drop after ...more

I bought back just after the open at about 52.90 so didn't do as well as I thought I would but still better than having not sold and just gotten the divy, If it wasn't such an up day it probably would've dropped a bit more. you're right though there are some nice tail winds with the dropping rates and a bit of growth, PPL is my main pipeline and I just hold it  and I also ...more

I picked up about  $1.50/sh  by selling yesterday and buying back today (about 2/3 of what I had so far), there's quite a few big divy plays out there that this still works well, many years ago you used to be able to bop around scoring divys and moving on but it's been the opposite for a while now however it looks to me like some people are still doing it and losing on the deal,& ...more

A profit is a profit , if you have 10k shares it's easy money ..... it may not work all the time it didn't work in 3 ex dividend in the last 12 months

actually it's worked on pretty much all of them, you just have to wait a while some quarters to buy it back  cheaper than what the divy would've paid by holding, these's only maybe 1 q in the last while where "maybe" it wasn't worth it,  the only reason I bought 2/3 back right away this time was because it's now a given that rates will drop where as ...more
