Dividend

Hi everyone! I am fairly new to investing and I am trying to figure out if people think the dividend that E Split provides would be considered safe over the long-run. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

It's about as safe as they come IMO  The dividend was raised from $.10 to $.13 in May of 2019 They have never missed a monthly dividend even though Covid

1 more thing, the dividend is tax efficient  For 2022 ...... $1.56 in distributions 66.5% was "Eligible Dividends" 33.5% was ROC (Return Of Capital) ROC isn't taxed but it does reduce your ACB

New....I don't disagree with the others here that have responded to you.  You are right to make sure that the dividend seems secure for any oinvestment you make. That said, one thing to keep in mind is to focus on the Total Return, not just the dividend part.  if you look back at past charts for different time period and compare the price appreciation of ENS vs ENB you will see what ...more

At times (when ENS.TO trades at premium to its Net Asset Value) the fund manager makes an overnight offering.  Typically, you want to be out of the ETF at that point since it "normally" bounces lower.  Keep an eye on comments on this thread.  There are some very clever people that watch it (and understand when it time to cash out).  I am a leech and exploit these ...more
