A disaster

since   Smoothwater    got  involved    .    Would   be  15.00    now   with  the  people  they  fired   for  no  reason.

EQI and GDC are two of the activist investments made by Smoothwater that rallied after the intial announcement of their involvement but went into a nosedive later. I don't know what's wrong but they are doing a damn poor job of enhancing shareholder value. I'm beginning to think the problem is Stephen Griggs the CEO of Smoothwater and perhaps Garfield Mitchell, the moneyman behind ...more

EQI stock price has been a disaster for a few years and now the smell of the Home Capital situation is rubbing off on the other mortgage lenders including the major banks, what a mess.

Whether the stock price collapse of Home Capital and the other small mortgage lenders is justified doesn't really matter but I suspect their salvation lies in a merger or takeover of a few of these lenders by one or more of the major Canadian banks.
