In response to a question on oil and gas stocks, the trend is they do well between late February and early May. But it has a seasonal tailwind so the upside could continue. Look at your parameters when buying and consider early May as a point to exit.

IShares S&P/TSX Capped Energy Index ETF (XEG - TSX)

The energy sector is typically strong from late February until early May. The Canadian energy sector has performed particularly well since the beginning of the year. The Russia-Ukraine war has put additional upward pressure on the price of oil. Investors should expect the price of oil and the energy sector to be volatile depending on the Russia-Ukraine war developments.

This is for exposure to the Canadian energy sector which is in a better spot than the U.S. sector. Energy has done really well and has more to go, being in a strong seasonal period. April is a very good month for energy.
