So I see Erf is in the business of financing other companies acquisitions before providing its own shareholders with a meaningful dividend.

Haha yeah kinda looks that way doesn't it.. I sold awhile back so no skin for me anymore, but it's a very strange deal. Must not have been that much interest?

If there was little interest, then spin it out and give the shares to the existing erf shareholders. There's 9k boed of mostly oil in Canada. No point giving it away.

real story is why they in a hurry to divest Canada assets? to be a pure U.S. O&G M&A target would be my guess. that's not so bad IMO.

CEO has been critical of the regulatory environment in Canada for a few years, that is why. The deal is a good one they get cash, 3 mil shares below market value and a security backed loan. As for the div, we will find out next week, but there will probably be a hike. Management is very conservative and I think it will pay off. I hope it comes off a little next week leading up to earnings because ...more

Needs to get critical of his board alignment. The only way they would know how it feels to be a shareholder is to become one.
