Good news for ESM, but I've been reading about Rovina mine approvals for years. This release says they are expecting necessary approvals for the PUZ later this year and upon completion then can apply for the Urbanism Certificate for the Project with Hunedoara County - which will then initiate the Environmental Impact Assessment.

Anyone guess when EIA might be approved???

i agree, so many hoops to get a permit. if this project is so good for everyone, what is with so much drama and long formalities

When the residents of the county don't want it it is an uphill battle. A woman and a environmenral group but land essentially surrounding the area in question and it has created a peoblem for getting road in and out among other things. Good news it is Romania and palms being greased can get things through. Bad news is if another government not friendly to the mine gets elected before the

I did my dissertation on the Rovina Valley Project :-) :-). Romanian mining laws really need an overhaul - they are massively archaic. The one piece of good news is those who purchase small parcels of land in the tailing area - the land can be forcibly bought off them through expropriation. Also expect the EIA Q3 2023, which will also provide the construction permit.
