Third Party Mining Companyy

Wouldn't suprise me to see a third party make an offer for ETG.
MG wants other mining companies and investment in their country.  As long as they get their 34% they likely dont care who owns the deposit.
Companies like BHP, Tech or Glencore could buy in to get their foot in the door.
I'd think MG would welcome a miner of size as it would bring another entitiy who would likely do additionbal exploration.
Rio certainly hasn't done any additional exploration in the last 20 years in MG so expecting them to expand is not likely.
Rio doesn't seem to be interested in ETG either so not sure they would get to excited having a major as a partner.

After Rio wrote off Mongolian debt at OT its unlikely Mongolia could be or would be allowed by Rio to bring a third party in without Rio say so

Agreed. In addition, only a fool would like to be caught between GOM and RT. GLTA

ETG is caught between GOM and RT.   GOM runs the country and does pretty well what it pleases.

Yes but its Rio that runs the show at O.T.

I don't know if Mongolia has enough fiscal stability to do as it pleases.  Rio's gross global sales are more than double Mongolia's GDP.  Mongolia has substantial dependence on foreign development, investment and export banks, the IMF, World Bank, and support of the G-12 countries who favour their third neighbour diplomatic policy, keeping China and Russia's involvement ...more

Even OT is Mongolia, we usually don't factor in domestic issues except when OT is directly involved; the Dzud situation has indeed been bad for the last couple of years.  Great points GC.
