On Patience: We respectfully ask for your continued patience as we work to put Humpty Dumpty back to together, at least as much as current surgical procedures will allow. And yes, it's embarrassing to ask this of you considering how much patience you have already demonstrated over the past several weeks. But here's the deal: to reduce opportunities for hacking, we've cut a number of automated systems and are doing a lot more things manually now. More work for us and more inconvenience for customers in the short term, but we believe net-net better for all of us in the long-run. On "Access Denied"/403 error messages: I'm afraid the login inconveniences in particular aren't over yet. With our firewall on overdrive, legitimate customers are getting routinely blocked and having to jump through hoops or simply wait to get back in. Hopefully things will calm down soon, but we're erring on the side of over-vigilance (if that's a word) until we feel a little more confident the primary risk has been significantly reduced, if not eliminated.
In the meantime, taking any of the following steps might help:
1) clear cache and cookies
2) try accessing IV from a different device and/or browser
3) wait a bit and try again (sometimes it will clear up on its own, although how long of a wait is required will depend on any number of variables in a given case)
If none of the above works, email your IP address to admin@investorvillage.com and we will have our technician manually unblock you at the firewall when he can find the time to do so (if you don't know it, you can google "What's my IP address?" and it will tell you. Unfortunately, for the time being, even a manual override may prove to be only a temporary fix.
