LAW SUITS WILL FAIL

There is no doubt that EXE did everything they could to deal with C19 and protect their residents.  C19 was and still is a perfect storm for most everyone.   Without institutions like long term care operators with EXE, the whole system would have collapsed.  Sure, there is allot of collateral damage, but all unintended.  Lawyers are doing what they do best, exploit the system for profit - they really don't care about you or I.   That is why these law suits will be dismissed by Govt. as baseless.    Right now, what organizations like EXE need is further support - not law suits.   We need EXE to keep operating and providing the service that they do - with an accelerating aging Canadian population, we need EXE to prosper and they need our support.   Without EXE, we will only have disaster.....

Indoubt brings up an interesting point that I have seen discussed elsewhere. China did a remarkable job of containing Covid-19.  One can discuss conspiracy theories forever, but there are two things that can't be denied that contributed to China's success in dealing with Covid-19. First off, China issued "stay at home" orders to 700 million people that were enforced.  ...more

I don't buy for a minute what China says. Communist regimes will always hide their faults. I might agree that they handled it better only because their citizens fear authority more than here. But, for sure we don't have their real covid numbers so not a fair comparison at all.

Agreed, complete bs out of china, not one bit true, sorry but everything is bs from their government, even go back to Fukushima and the nuclear plant, no one knew anything close to truth. As for covid huge population and guarenteed it's still hitting hard there, having said all that I commend them on no longer playing the keep track of "new cases new deaths" nonsense fear monger ...more

We have people in China and they say china is still having outbreaks and their vacine is only 58% effective. Their fast made hospitals were made in close proximity to where their leadership lives. Others had no hospitals. There own people are afraid to take the china vacine because the people do not trust their own government. That info was as from yesterday.

Not surprising, they tell the world "our lockdowns fixed the problem" while they turn around and just go back to normal while the rest of the world is following their doesnt work method, they are making bank and not telling anyone how many cases etc. Our government is too stupid or ignorant to figure it out.

If they put LTC homes in a bubble we would have 70% less deaths and not even need a vaccine which imo wont be the end solution to this anyway, the solution is and always has been it will go away when it goes away. We are I the 2nd year of it, history tells us 2 years, vaccine, media all fluff bs and government playing sherade for as long as possible to eventually say "we fixed it, vote for us ...more

Here is the provincial statistics on covid death per hundred beds. Extendicare is at 3.6 while the provincail average is 3.75. Why did they pick Extendicare .

Very true, these people do far more then anyone on the outside even realizes, sure there maybe a couple run poorly that give the industry a black eye but for the most part they are a necessity, changing adults diapers and cleaning up after they eat, bathing all stuff, lawsuits are a joke, they should and will be tossed.
