Exmin''s Potential Production from Moris

Hello, My first post on Exmin. I'm hoping sharper investors out there like coach, et al, can help me out. I'm trying to get an idea of Exmin's investment potential. With the share price currently around $0.52 and 66.9 million shares outstanding, according to Emxin's website, that means EXM has a market cap of only $34.79 million, which is approximately half of Impact Silver. I understand that in Q3 of this year the Santa Maria de Moris mine will go into production. I have also read that Exmin has a 30% ownwership interest and that Hochschild has a 70% ownership interest in the Moris mine. I also found in a news release dated July 19, 2006 from Exmin that the Moris mine prior to shutting down in April 1999 was a 3,000 ton per day operation. How long would it take for Hochschild and Exmin to get the Moris mine back up to a 3,000 ton per day operation? I've scoured Exmin's website and Hochschild's website and I can't find any information at all on what the initial ton per day production will be starting in Q3 and how fast and at what rates the daily production will increase over time? Also, how much silver and gold can Hochschild and Exmin realistically extract from each ton of ore at the Moris mine? Any ideas on what the cost of production will be? Sincere thanks to all with helpful answers.

Thanks r2j316, I really appreciate it. Thanks to you too coach247 for those very informative posts written back in December. coach wrote in December, "For a back of the envelope scenario, I would suggest that we could see production commence in April '07, starting at 1000 tpd and increasing rapidly to the design capacity of about 3000 tpd." Yet, the March 2, 2007 Exmin news ...more

Production is going to start in Q3 as made official by Horschild in their quarterly release. I guess they have to wait until Q3 to get all of the licenses and permits updated and also to train the staff Mina Moris In early December 2006, we exercised our option to acquire a 70% stake in the Mina Moris open pit mine in Chihuahua, Mexico, which was owned and operated by Manhattan S.A. de C ...more

Moris is an open pit mine, with a heap leach recovery process. That is the least complex mining operation we can hope for, and Hocthschile is an experienced operator. So I expect the operation to get up to capacity very quickly and with minimal downtime. However, it is still a pretty big undertaking to move and crush 3000 tpd of rock from a hillside, truck it down to the mill, and then spread ...more
