I think the heavy truck industry is going to be the bread and butter. The margins are likely to be higher there, and the performance benefits will be most visual in medium/heavy hauling. Cheers!

Exro is building a facility that can make 100,000 units a year and they call that low volume.  They are 100% geared to proving up the technology for cars. Toyota sells 20,000,0000 hybrids a year and everyone of them can use a coil driver    I don't think Exro is chasing the big truck market as the end goal as the volumes are absolutley minuscule compared to the automotive world. ...more

I think you need to recheck those numbers . As of 2020 , Toyota has sold a total of 15 million hybrids worldwide .

Total world wide auto prodution was 77.6 million in 2020 down from 91.7 in 2019. I think the bigger picture is that the majority ( if not all) of this production will become electric over the next 10-15 years. List of countries by motor vehicle production - Wikipedia

Volvo is on this list. Today they announced their road map for EV production and sales - 50% by 2025 and 100% by 2030. Consumer Vehicles is a race to the bottom in terms of pricing. I have no doubt that initially it will be a greta income source, but over time the margins with be slimmed considerably. With mid and heavy duty vehicles, the focus is on performance and reliability, and margins are likely to have both staying power, and size, just in dollars alone. (Forgive these numbers, they are coming out of my a ...more

Aarman. Welcome aboard the train.  as per your last post I agree and as for pulling numbers from thin air it's what we are all doing for now.   the only counter I have is HP and torque always pull a premium. The same car with a big v8 cost thousands more. Are car companies willing to pay for increased performance?????  That we will soon find out. Look at how much more ...more

I totally agree with you on the performance side of cars for sure, but they are a small sector of consumer vehicle purchases.... For every Mustang or Supra is 50 Base model KIA's. It do think though, how many F150s are sold each year? This technology is PERFECT for bringing electric pickups into the main stream. Cheers!
