Volkswagen really needs a leg up in the EV world - could be them as they need a little "magic"

Volkswagen would be a great early adopter. They may not be top-of-mind in North America, but they sure are doing major buisiness in the rest of the world. Their president appeared in in a lengthy interview a few months ago, I think it was on 60 Minutes or something similar.
