    Quality Engineer (Automotive) Location: Dublin, Virginia / Mineral Wells, West Virginia Position Summary: Exro’s Quality Engineer ensures that management systems for Quality, Health & Safety, and Environment (QHSE) are developed, implemented, and maintained according to corporate, customer, and regulatory requirements, as well as best practices. This role ensures product & process issues and customer concerns are addressed, and meet all requirements. Partnering with engineering and other departments, assuring continual improvement of suppliers, products, processes, and services using quality methods. Additionally, you will support Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities from a QHSE perspective. As a Quality Engineer, you will work cross-functionally maintaining strong relationships throughout the organization. A strong communicator you provide detailed and concise data and practice diplomacy as needed. The successful candidate will own the metrics for this role and be able to work through others for the highest quality outcomes in products. Required Skills and Experience: Compliance Ensures Exro and subcontractors are operating in compliance with corporate requirements, customer requirements, and QHSE regulatory requirements. Institute and apply internal procedures and auditing systems (i.e., systems, manufacturing, product). Accountable for current and future QHSE documentation and quality equipment ensuring records are maintained in good working condition. Ownes the QHSE activities and outcomes in risk management. Continual Improvement Ensures key measurables are monitored, reported, and drive improvement efforts. Champions ongoing capability studies and sends reports to external stakeholders. Initiates corrections to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities related to product, process, and quality systems. Leads continual improvement projects such as mistake proofing, cost reduction, lean 6-sigma, etc. Nonconformities Oversees, investigates, and reports nonconformities. Manages process and product deviations, customer approval, and coordination with the Supply Chain team. Leads 8D investigations on assembly/manufacturing issues and customer complaints; correspondence to the appropriate customers, as needed. Initiates, recommends; and provides solutions through designated channels Determines outcomes of further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected. Product Quality Planning Participates in and owns all applicable APQP activities, which include: Working with process owners in developing process flowcharts, FMEA & Control plans. Conducting Measurement System Analysis and capability studies Prototype & PPAP documentation and IMDS submissions. Joins product evaluation and development work as required, to design as much Quality Assurance into the product/process as possible. Initiates and controls inspection practices and documentation relating to material processes and workmanship to ensure that incoming material and parts, work in process, and finished goods will meet predetermined quality standards. Required Skills and Experience: Educational Background and Experience Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is a requirement. Minimum 5 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing environment and internal audits. Practical experience in design review, machining, metal forming, stamping, and testing. Trained on SPC and able to apply statistical tools including X-bar & R charts, ANOVA, DOE, and Measurement System Analysis  Experienced with Occupational Health and Safety Fundamentals.     Position Summary: The Warranty and Technical Support Analyst is the primary point of contact for supporting the warranty claims process, component inspections, failure documentation, and conducting failure review meetings with key stakeholders including engineering, suppliers, and dealers. this position is significant for Exro to diagnose part failure in the field; providing key insights into changes needed in product design, dealer service training, and dealer diagnostic processes. The successful candidate will create processes, write documentation, and manage projects to enhance operational efficiency. This role will involve technical editing and writing as well as coordinating with engineers for support service functions to OEM partners. Responsibilities: Manage warranty claims and inquiries through the collection of data, research of claims, and investigation. Follow the cycle of claims Manage warranty claims through the approval process and payment overcoming obstacles (negotiation, resubmittals, etc.). Determine the best method to resolve problems to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to our policies. Provide effective and timely communication to all stakeholders. Possess product knowledge to aid in being a subject matter expert on product lines. Customer correspondence, data gathering to process warranty claims and provide instructions for submitting warranty claims. Communicate with suppliers on product failures, recall campaigns, and product swaps updating stakeholders, manufacturers, customers, claims adjusters, and service departments. Maintaining a warranty failure database showing costs and trends. Circulate reports, warranty accrual vs. spending, and detailed failure reports. Work with Aftermarket Technicians to ensure they track product failures, replacements, and spending on assignments. Conduct review meetings with key stakeholders (Engineering, Suppliers, and Warranty Departments); adhering to project deadlines. Maintain an accurate database of all product warranty contract details and manufacturer warranty policies. Serve as subject matter expert on regulations governing warranty work and claims. Research, gather, and prepare necessary information to substantiate warranty claims and provide a timely submission to manufacturers and third-party warranty companies. Prepare supplemental claims packages and submit them with supporting information to substantiate the claim. Create and maintain technical documentation, comparisons, and feature descriptions, identifying areas for process improvements and efficient procedures. Engage external partners as the primary warranty contact for technical knowledge regarding warranty claims. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, automotive technology, or related field preferred and 2.5 years warranty technical experience or 5+ Years’ experience in warranty technical experience in automotive or related field. Strong mechanical and electrical systems understanding to diagnose component failures accurately and efficiently and/or system failures. Demonstrated warranty claims experience is required for this position and should be reflected in prior roles. Excellent customer service skills, particularly in managing challenging customers including demonstrations. Positive, professional attitude, handling difficult discussions with vendors and clients. Knowledge and experience working in a process management system and priority setting. Strong technology skills and use of Excel for reporting.
