Probably the most significant conference call in FEC history

Even though Catalyst Capital's name was not mentioned once in the call, it is clear they have reached their endgame and want to cash out of FEC. Their closed end LP Fund V, holding the FEC shares has or soon will reach its planned liquidation date that was listed in the original prospectus. Here is the AI answer when asked about G$ and a Frontera Energy sale.

Frontera Energy has engaged Goldman Sachs to assist with the strategic alternatives process for its standalone Colombian Infrastructure business. This process may include options such as a spin-off, a total or partial sale, or other business combinations1. The company is exploring various strategic, business, and financial alternatives to enhance shareholder value, and Goldman Sachs is acting as a financial adviser in this regard2.

At least it appears they have engaged the best in getting deals done, hopefully fast.

Goldman are an American lap dog ...they will not be engaging the Chinese as that is where the true value for most or all the assets will bring top dollar ...if this DeAlba was any kind of nagotiater that's whee he should be looking to cash out I one piece ...sell the Guyana assets to Cenoc .......

Goldman has 3 Offices in Greater China and 2 in Hong Kong. I have been saying that CNOOC seemed the logical buyer for FEC before the Bloomberg article last year about engaging CITI to find a buyer. CNOOC also has an office there and 4 concessions and a small JV with Petrobras. I would guess the one offer was from CNOOC but was based on a premium over current share price which of course has sucked ...more

Your knowledge and thoughts on the situation here are well founded ...I to am in a little deep but ..am still in the green even at this price ...I do see some bmo .ncib buying ..I guess that's legal for frontera to keep buying back back Shares ....it's hard for me to believe though we are the only investors that can see this and not even a spec buyer is out there ...we can,t be the only ...more
