MD, what is this about. I see mickey mouse trades under Non Board Lot.  Educate me pls.

I can't help but notice that they appear to be price correcters.  They seem to be the ones that push the market a penny up and a penny down and they seem to be able to do it with unusually small trades. Some as small as 5 shares.  Seems like a manipulation of sorts. Just an observation.

They are exempt from determining the last price, so they can't be a form of manipulation.

From what I'm aware, stocks under $1 trade in lots of 1000 and stocks over $1 trade in lots of 100.  This is done to speed up trading.  If someone wants to sell an odd number such as 121 shares, and there is a buyer at that price for 100.  The 100 will be traded, and the remaining 21 will be automatically filled as a non boardlot trade.  This is the part I'm not cetain ...more
