Ontario....OCS article

https://archive.is/PUUOL

a good read into what the OCS is looking for from is suppliers. I cannot tell though if this is good or bad for Supreme. Looks like OCS is more focused on price then  quality....not so good for Supreme. Fowker once made a twitter comment on how legal cannabis will fail if gov doesnt accept better quality and higher prices. OCS also sees indoor as more valuable thhen greenhouse grown. I think Supreme is safe their as our system is fully enclosed. OSC is als princess shing bqck on companies price points forlow grade cannabis. So, not all cannabis is the same? Say it aint so..... my gut feeling is we are safe but what do others feel after reading?

Here's what I don't like. The OCS wants to sell at $7.50 per gram to shut out the illegal market. The problem is that you can't run a free-market business working price backwards; if the government wants to put a price ceiling cap on the wholesale price then they need to cap every single input of production and freeze those manufacturing costs accordingly; electricity, water, gas ...more

Agreed but there is no way they sell for 7.50 /G when supreme and others ie WEEDMD wholesale already at 6.50/G ---((( plus how greedy the gov monopoly is ** )))don't get me wrong they will have some product at 7.50 which is double A quality--possible a milled blend for cheaper even ...but top quality flower NO WAY --- why sell wholesale to any province if namaste and blissco and others buy for ...more

I hear you, the incentive for LPs to sell to the OCS @ $7.50 is non-existant but that's what happens when the government wants to step away from law and policy making and run Crown Corps in the free-market. Guess we're going to have to wait and see what type of 'volume' incentive the government provides in supply agreement to offset the setting of such a low whole sale price.

Here's what I do like - the OCS is planning on implementing a 3 category system - similar to the LCBO where you have the general section, vintage section, and you need to go find somebody to unlock the glass cabinet to get that the bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue that they walk up to the front for you. So the intended consumer will know where they want to shop within the 3 categories. This will ...more

I think you are onto something here JRS.....reality is there is a big difference between top level and low level wines..... there is DEF a big dif between low/mid/high grade cannabis. Fowler and Supreme have always been focused on the top level produt. The fact that the OSC acknowledges different grades is a big win i think for the industry and for us (hopefully)..... the OSC will see quickly ...more

unfortunately, i still smoke tobacky. Now , i can go to the reserve and get their smokes, which i have, dirt cheap. But, ask anyone who has tried them, just can't handle them,to rough, dry, hack ,cough, spit , even the "light" smokes",. just a fact. Lower cost ? Absolutley but not worth it. So, would a person buy something with quality & enjoy it & it's legal or buy ...more

Agreed JRS, and it will never fly would be the best plan to support the back market criminal production with better quality for the same price...who ever came up with this plan has never been accused of being a genius. The pricing will be controlled by demand, based on quality and personal preference and most will pay more for FIREweed quality herb....they will definately have to monitor/control ...more

It took 7 years after alcohol prohibition to wipe out the bootleggers/ blackmarket *** MJ is estimated to take 15 years till fully eradicated ...

The 7.50$ is only for some strains of flower not all of them. It's the entry level flower and has nothing to do with what fire is producing. Basically ocs will have 3 princing categories: good, better and best and as you know fire is targetting the last one so unless you produce shitty weed, you are good to go
