OCS deliveries

Does anyone know when you order from OCS online, does someone have to be present to sign for the package upon delivery, or do they simply drop it off like any other package?

I recall reading somewhere something about the postal person having to verify ID of the recipient to ensure they are of legal age.  This will complicate things as A) someone needs to be present at the delivery point otherwise it goes back to a post office for the next day pick-up, B) the fact that cananbis shipments needs to be validated on delivery means tehre is no discretion to what you're ordering.

Thoughts?

Good question. The government did announce that Canada Post would be a delivery service used. Not sure if any others mentioned. I'm sure there will be many, along with private businesses and 1 hr delivery services. Not sure how the OCS will deal with shipping regulations. I work at Canada Post. We receive a lot of cannabis product. From my experience, outside of the OCS guidelines ...more

With the current med system, Aurora ships by Canada Post or Purolator and signature is required upon delivery.....can't see that there would not be a signature and probably ID required when product delivered. With the current system the LPs have all of your personal info on file with your prescription and registration but with rec sales the same would be unlikely due to much higher volume and ...more

Hey Opt :)    Thanks for the info about only being able to buy online within our personal provinces/territories. I have not yet heard that. Ontario here. A place to discover. :) I got to reading the OCS faq link which someone posted on this board, and now see that ID checks and signatures will be the case for the OCS online retail distribution model.    Carrier and ...more

Good morning SC, I think they will have to handle it as 'Registered' mail....would they leave registered mail in the community boxes or do leave a slip that you have to pick it up at a Canada Post outlet? My mail box is in the local post office so I go there to get my mail anyway but the never leave it in the box, I have to pick it up at the wicket and sign...they know me so they never ask ...more

Thanks, Opt, and g'morning to you too! :) It's still morning in my mind. Yes, "Signature Required" is registered mail. At CP, Priority mail $ent includes a signature. With Expedited, Xpresspost Regular mail, and lettermail, one pay$ extra for a signature. If it's a registerd pkg and nobody's available for a signature at time of delivery ,it would be carded and sent to a ...more

I don't know that working in an environment with constant, serious herb aroma may not take it's toll after a while SC....but if there is enough FIREweed in it may not be that bad. I have tried the strains that Aurora has had on their menu and I won't buy any other...looking forward to the CBD oils that come from the Medigrow production. There is no need to get stressed and if it is ...more

It's only once in a while that we get large whiffs of cannabis that linger around until a parcel container is moved. I'd love to smell FIREweed. :)  Thanks for sharing that you prefer 7 Acres products at Aurora. :)  Winter is coming!  Cheers :)

I have the highest respect for Canada Post employees, they are all awesome! It will be very important that Supreme never gets caught selling or delivering to a minor for it's an automatic suspension and lose all priviledges of being on this list.
