The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Monday accused Royal Bank of Canada RY-T of engaging in “hundreds of millions of dollars” in co-ordinated stock futures trades with itself to win tax credits from the Canadian government.

Jesus...why am I not suprised...great find idunnobut, maybe this sheds light on why RBC found the MWS and Ezulwini asset sale price 'fair' despite the following information      In December 2011 RBC reported that Mine Waste Solutions had a net asset value of Cdn $443.4m and Ezulwini to have a net asset value of Cdn $276.4m, for a total net asset value of Cdn $719m. Further to Colt's note, the valuation of $719-million is only the NPV of the assets. Multiples need to be incorporated for earning potential/cashflow and the value of these properties to the bidding companies.

Well even if that is the case (and your probably right dkolish), I think we should still submit a letter to the correct regulatory commissions, I would rather be proactive then sit around and say there's nothing we can do. I have no problem drafting a letter and posting it for comments before mailing and emailing the proper regulatory body, however, I have no idea who to contact. I'll ...more

There are external trading records that could easily identify wash trading which I suspect has been happening all the while with FIU. 500 shares at time continuously pushing the stock price down, then a few large transactions to create a large loss for RBC for tax credits, and the shares come back because it's a wash trade.
