what happens

Seems to me as though the asset sales must be defeated at this point. What happens if a competing offer for the shares comes out and the asset sales are accepted? The board has been supporting the asset sales, but yet this is clearly not in the shareholders best interest if a higher price for the shares is available.

First, the fact that somebody is willing and apparently able to submit a offer for the company which gives the shareholders certainty shows that the board did not properly compete it's task to find buyers.

Secondly, the fact that an FIU company meeting is being held to decide on specific asset sales which will liquidate the company is being held is unacceptable if somebody is putting forward a paln to purchase the company shares.

Thirdly, the board is clearly acting against the best interests of the shareholders in continuing to proceed with the meeting in which a yes outcome to the asset sales is possible. As a shareholder, we simply cannot have a Yes vote to asset sale while there is a bid for the entire company.

Finally, there is no circumstances or decision the board could make which will allow the board to have the confidence of the shareholders. The board must resign. The shareholder must elect a new board and this entire process must be restarted with the highest priority to find a buyer for the shares of the company.

All good points. One of the problems with sacking or accepting resignations from the board and management is replacing them. A good pool of talent would be found at AngloGold and Village but who would trust those guys? Anglo really blew it when they didn't put their mark on the company after buying 20%. Any moves now will be viewed with suspicion. There is no road to redemption for the current ...more

They won't have a choice if a clearly superior offer is presented.  They would face major legal problems if they did this. Although they don't seem to be taking their fiduciary duty to shareholders seriously, they still have it.  And with all the public and media attention pointed at them these days, they better step carefully. As the funds leading the opposition's legal ...more

Doug Doug Doug Hear me my friend There is a lot more going on than you or I are of behind the scenes I'm sure... As far as FIU's lawyers are concerened  they will be swpending more time trying to keep those fools out of jail. They have crossed the line and they do not have the press on their side as you earlier said.  The press are sick of the games played by these pieces of ...more

Shifty, can you stop posting stuff like that please? We're in the process of trying to get stockholders who are new to Stockhouse here so they can see that they have a legitimate alternative to just accepting the crumbs presently being given by FIU management.  . Comments like yours would only make them think that we're a bunch of knuckleheads who are running amuck without a plan ...more

Love to do that. But I agree with Mike. Hopefully in a few days when the letters start arriving we will have a number of new members join our group. In the meantime, for those of you who have found us, fell free to add your name and share count at the link below. Or if you already have, update the running tally if you have changed your number of shares. I'm curious where we are as this hasn ...more

I believe that if the asset sale's are voted down and WMC goes after the whole of FIU we won't have to worry about mgnt any longer. They wil resign out of FEAR and DISGRACE. That's better than any beating we could gove them !!!!!l
