Goad

I'm sure I'm just echoing what many others feel or have commented on before, but what exactly does Robin Goad do to earn his $300,000 a year compensation? He makes an awful lot of money to seemingly do nothing to create value for us shareholders. I understand there are many NDAs out around this company but at some point one has to wonder if he is capable of bringing this project over the finish line. If he isn't then he should step aside and let someone who can, I'm sure there are plenty of capable candidates who would be interested at his yearly rate.

Just my opinion, I'd be interested to hear what others are thinking about Goad at this point.

For the sake of all of us, I truly hope I'm proven wrong but the evidence isn't encouraging right now.

Well I been here a while and probably asked that question a few times back then.... I did watch him carefully on all of his presentations and In fact called him once and actually spoke to him. Many posters here would have had much better questions but I was interested in the guy running this operation. I don't doubt mistakes have been made in the past but we are in a new space given all that ...more

No successful company is a one man show. Robin brings what he knows, and presents well. The balance of the board needs to step up and bring what they can to the table. Contacts, finance, other knowledge.

Totally agree with you on that GEO and I regret we hear so little on others efforts to compliment the situation.

... meanwhile the co. has to obtain taxpayer monies to run a program, half of what he is paid.
Comment by red on Aug 10, 2021 7:10pm
And Part of the job is to get that money .... just like the Newmonts, diaviks and The Washington. Groups of the world ....and you can bet thier CEOs may works for a million a month..... but I guess they also make hundreds of millions lol.... our day may come soon.

... thats disgusting ! Theres no way the Gov should be giving cash away to advacned projects, maybe the burgeoning prospector to take a stba at the results from their geoscience and crown lands but this... Straight up irresponsible on every level....

I think a mine would return more to the taxpayers than another showing. Showings only have value if they can be developed. If you can't get the permit to mine, it has no value. Fortune got a bulk sample permit a long time ago. It then takes many years to get a mine permit. Cheetah has a bulk sample permit. Big difference than a mine permit. I hope they can proceed, but the track record isn' ...more

Well... here are my thoughts on the issue.    complex to say the least. Complex deposit, complex negotiations and complex markets.    everyone here invested in an opaque market...not sure when they realized these things take time. That said- we have gold, but are not a gold mine... I find often times we (generally speaking) assume things will be fast moving... well ...more

Robin is a smart man. Agreed. Experienced and very knowledgeable.Very personable to boot. Developed two very good potential mines. It is inconceibale he made the decision to buy the Revenue silver mine and then produced no silver. Read the 2014 - 2015 news releases and multiple SRK feasability studies and shake your head in disbelief. A potential NICO Olympic Dam mine equivalent was put on the ...more

Further the processing facility in Saskatoon is at best a glorified test plant / research facility at a school in the range of 30-40 million hardley a processing plant but yes fully supported by Saskatchewan gov.....and it has kept them (along with site activities,) in the news which is good as it all adds up but certainly not a 300 million process plant. FT requirements for processing are in ...more

Hi Red, I spoke with Troy yesterday. Yes, they are in talks with a refiner in Northern Alberta, and others. He was reluctant to give details other than an option to refine. Which is wise at this point. IMO. Tuck

Great thanks .... the last NR was indicative of some discussions and what I am working off.... putting some pcs together there are few that they could be talking too ..... but these discussions need to bring us some news ... this can't go on much longer.

True.... difference  is cobalt and BMs have never been in the projected space they are now not to mention politics etc etc etc  the disconnect must come to an end ..... the processing issue that all NA cobalts face is an obstacle faced by all and hopefully we can contribute to the solution with a comprehensive NA built plan.  based on what I have seen in last couple of years ...more

I wonder why the share price is always beaten down as soon as there are signs of a slight recovery. Has the management gambled away so much trust or is the outlook for the next 24 months really hopeless?
Comment by elitespooner on Aug 12, 2021 3:59pm
Canaccord dumping ... maybe ask why no insiders are buying at these levels.
Comment by geolith on Aug 12, 2021 6:33pm
I think the question as to why it has taken so long is the right one. How many mines have been permitted in the NWT in the last 50 years. How many that weren't diamond mines (developed by multi-billion dollar companies). The answer does not include Cheetah (bulk sample permit). Nor does it include Gold Terra, Rover, Nighthawk which all hold exploration permits. Robin has accomplished something ...more

Comment by uudamann on Aug 13, 2021 7:33am
That is the question? NO! The question is why did GOAD convert a put and pay for the Virginius mine (10 million USD per qtr in silver equivalents) into a fixed loan at 15% interest that was called within 8 months. Eight MONTHS! FT had 6 months of mine operations under its belt and had to know they had bought a mill that needed another 5 million USD injection to operate (according to the SEDAR ...more

I recall silver was high and moving higher when they bought the mine. Then silver Crashed, so they dumped the mine. Not sure what you have to gain with your news.
Comment by uudamann on Aug 13, 2021 9:58am
Silver reached a brief peak at $59/oz April 2011 following a very rapid ascent. Price then equally rapidlly descended reaching $18/oz Nov 2014 at which point the Lascaux loan was signed without any guard rails. Covenants were breached within 8 months. Can you picture Aurcana's market cap about 15 minutes after the first truck loaded with tons of ore concentrate hits an ice patch and hurtles off the road into wild blue yonder. Does anyone happen to recall the names of those two miners found dead deep inside the Revenue Mine tunnel 2440 meters from the entrance. This was on a bitterly cold Sunday morning Nov 17, 2013. It is claimed 100 ...more

What do you have to gain by bashing this stock at this time? No one is happy with the current stock price. It wouldn't be this low if it wasn't for the silver mine fiasco. All North American cobalt miners seem to be down while cobalt continues to climb. We have a proven deposit. How is your bashing going to help our stock price?
Comment by red on Aug 13, 2021 12:09pm
Many of these posts are great and informative and shows some understanding of the facts in front of us..... we are a unique deposit.... on the cusp of something given all that we know going on around us and I think we look so good compared to others that I am prepared to wait this out and it's my feeling we won't have to wait to much longer for something .... Yes, the price of silver changed substantially just after the purchase, but do you believe Robin did the engineering work? Do you believe he examined the mine workings, level development, draw points ore and waste handling systems? The mill circuit and equipment inventory? Or do you think Fortune hired engineers and consultants to advise them. Why didn't they flag these concerns you have? Did ...more

I have been asking this question for years. It was nepotism that got him the position in the first place, inheriting the role from his father. Cheetah Resources walks into the NWT and puts a mine into production in 18 months. Granted a lot of the permits and groundwork was already done, but 18 months compared to 2 decades for FT. Perhaps FT needs some Aussie management to come in and take over. It ...more
