There is some intresting possible tell tale things going on...what you all think???   "New permitted refinery site collaboration being finalized + other optimizations for more robust economics" - in other words pull the D-mn gold out lol  "Strategic project equity partner(s) engaged Indicative interest from Commercial banks & EDC" Engaged is very ...more

Hello and good afternoon FT Longs Hope everyone is having a terrific summer.  Thanks for sending this along Red - appreciated. My take is the following; 1. We have full mining operations beginning in Q4 of 2024. 2. We are close to a processing plan and partner 3. We are not close to having an equity partner and still tire kicking but..... 4. We need an update Feas. Study before we get #3 ...more

+ Agreed red and Yellowknifer... the fall can be big. Once they announce the refinery they can then announce the drilling- if they do that and we have some good news from the drill results, we may be in for a very good fall imho

After being blind sided on our last development permit hearing in Northern Saskatchewan....I am surprised that we would even mention them as a possibility.....which contrary to my earlier thinking and being sold on Alberta sites ......maybe there is a site in sask on the table ?  "Railway delivery of concentrates to refinery in Alberta or Saskatchewan"  shoots my thinking ...more

Hi Red, What are the chances we receive a grant and bank loan to build a refinery near the mine? That's what First Cobalt managed to get. Maybe long term. Short term a partner with a refinery in operation.

Well that would make my heart sing if it were at all possible ... job creation and community building in the NWT would be fantastic but operations costs here would be a function TBD. now if that guy at enterprise who has built and is using his rail spur built the biomass power generation facility he plans And fed us from his already planned biomass ( wood pellets) facility that would be a game ...more

Fortune's first plan was to have a refinery at site, but that was soundly rejected during community discussions and the Developers Application Report. Maybe perceptions have changed, but there is fear and distrust of new technology in the NWT. And a lack of capacity to understand it across all regulatory levels. It is best to keep the gem, the component here that will survive for generations ...more

Geo, A refinery close to the mine would be ideal. Not necessarily at the site. Even a Yellowknife refinery would save a bunch of money for shipping costs. Do you know if the old gold mines in yellowknife have operational refineries? Get the gold for a start. Just a thought.

Hey all: Allow me to weigh in on this question.  The 'refinery' for Giant Mine left a seriously bad legacy in terms of environmental damage.  I would suggest that there is little appetite at the community level to see something like this repeated.  Not saying that a new refinery would repeat same processes just saying that the negative imagery associated with refining would ...more

Hey YK69, Was the contamination arsenic at Giant Mine. I don't believe arsenic is found at Nico. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks

Yes...... just a little bit though!  At least that is what the miner owners used to say (according to locals). Geo may be a better person to ask about the levels of arsenic associated with NICO but my understanding is that there is some? Yellowknifer
