Defense

Well folks, we covered offense and power plays a little while back, and its that time in the season, where it might be best to discuss a little defense. The secret sauce to any AAA house league hockey defense is a 1 v 1, player vs player system, thereby allowing the other teams astute coach to have his players rotate positions on the ice when in the offensive zone, resulting in your octopus like defensemen standing at your own blue line, and your cant break an egg wingers by your goalie, maximizing scoring opportunities for the other team. Rest assured, there is no man on man rotating with our all-star geriatric lineup and alumni Always gettin crackin and always in the perfect zone. TTF out a shift, working with the trainer on an equipment malfunction, Red battling away in the corner chips the puck to Yellowknifer circling back to help, then rounding the net, passes to Allman in the other corner, and Yellowknifer continuing to circle up the ice, Allman surveys the scene and passes back to Yellowknifer on a quick give and go, Yellowknifer instantly chips the puck ahead to Freedom on the wing, and Freedom passes to fellow winger Jim cutting on a 45 angle up the middle. A perfect breakout is on hand! The bullboard crowd almost goes wild! They dont score til they score and on the ice is always twice as nice for our savvy senior team skating to where the pass is going to be. All the while the trolls are mesmerized caught puck watching
