Are Copper Prices Peaking??

JP Morgan today said that it expects copper prices, after continued short term strength, to decline by over 15% between now and the fourth quarter of 2021. This expectation is due to the expected rolling over of China's credit growth, which is typically a good leading indicator of base metal prices. I guess not everyone is bullish.

Who knows but I rather doubt it,  no matter what JP Morgan says.   There are underlying drivers coming into play that spells long term bullish trends.  A greener world economy means demand  for copper will not diminish IMO.  If China demand drops off,  the US and Europe will pick up and will remain strong because if these trends, Covid and its mutating ...more

Well said.  We are going to advance as fast as possible to full production. Do the math on 100 million pounds produced for nearly 1$ per pound. It will take a couple of years but the stock will be a ten bagger or more

Cost structure is key and with this in situ process,  much easier to control than conventional mining. How did you come to that conclusion?  The in-situ method is essentially blind. You can never be entirely sure what is happening underground- physically or chemically. With conventiional mining, caving methods apart, you can control the grade better but at a price.  Excelsior ...more

Cash balance sitting at ~$15mm USD is enough to sustain operation if they get to nameplate in 1 year. They should not be in a rush, but at this point, the sooner the ramp up happens the better, if the ultimate goal is to sell the company.

I came to that conclusion after doing extensive research in the process.   Look up the purpose of "control wells".  Why would anyone pour $M into a process that you have no control over? There is constant testing and montoring of the in situ solution as it percolates to make sure the concentration levels remain static.   That is the control that is imposed on the well ...more

There are system and process controls but you can't understand the orebody and extract the copper as efficiently as  conventional mining. You give up some of that knowledge for the sake of lower capital development costs and, hopefully, lower operating costs. Modelling based upon drilling can only take you so far.

Well we can go back and forth all day.   Either you you think this is a good investment or  you don't.  I think it is and will be but each to their own.  I'm just trying to answer your question of why I came to that conclusion.    I feel I have answered it to my satisfaction.  If you want  to see trouble in handling a conventional orebody,  just ...more

I know it is a good investment since I bought 100k at 0.22 and another 100k at O.28. So I have done very well but, as a mining engineer by profession, I also recognise the risks and challenges.

My background is an investor of some 50 yrs and a one time stockbroker in my ealrlier life. I have seen many companies come and go.   I've been through many cycles.    My take on MIN is they have a really good shot at being successful.   This will be the first copper mine using this process although uranium miners which I am more familiar with have been using  this ...more

I started buying this stock in June 2015 and I have seen its highs and low since. I still hold, Not sure what the day trading remark is about, it is neither volatile nor liquid enough for that game.

I think its very likely to retest $3.30, or $3 in a wide market correction. I moved all copper exposure into MIN past few days, since the SP has the least sensitivity to copper price, and it's a conviction play on the in situ process.

We'll see about that. Did they call the big move we already had?  I doubt it. Never listen to these people/analysts...if they knew anything they wouldn't be working for a living still.  Copper and all the battery metals are entering a MEGA TREND that cannot and won't be stopped. It is a very rare occurance when the will of the people aligns with the policy of every government ...more
