Over Capitalized
In the last quarterly, they said:
"Inventory levels remain high and it will be crucial to level them out before year end in order for Goodfellow to reach its objectives."
Shareholder Equity is currently $185 million, whereas it has traditionally been in the $110 - $120 million and that has been more than enough to run the business. A good chunk of this excess shareholder Equity is contained in the overly high inventories. My throught is that when they can get the excess invesntory situation straightened out ()hopefully Q4), they will have a lot of extra cash on the balance sheet, which will probably be used for a large than normal special dividend. They may instead have a strategic initiatiuve like as acquistion in mind or selling the company - the sudden and terse notification of the Director resignation today may (or may not) be indicative of something coming soon.
