Through a Newbies Eyes

I just bought my first tranche of GEMN this week, so, take my comments with a grain of salt. What I see, is as quality asset, in a good jurisdiction with high initial Capex. Revenue side has nothing but upside and the current 80-20% ownership lends itself to a 50/50 venture by 2 large mining companies. (Back in and buy out at the same time) The JV production decision is a slam dunk if you ask me. My thought is "What is Sibanyes most logical way to extract value here?" I have no idea what will happen, like the rest of the public, but buying the whole show 50/50 with a big mining company wanting to diversify makes sense. Industry has been saying consolidation, capital discipline, and risk are key factors. I plan to keep buying till its bought out. With any luck Q3/Q4. Keep the faith, big wigs are watching I'm sure. Cheers

all good points ... but then: all these tailwinds do absolutely nothing for the stock SP.

The fast money, tailwinds, updrafts, re-ratings, speculation CAN all be short term noise we succumb too. I'm not good at it myself. I try to buy on fundamentals and hold. Win or Lose. Like tarsands said " patience" required.

Nice post. Patience is required. I personally believe greatest value for us will be to go to production. And GENM has the team to do it. Once production is on the horizon, I think that the market will have to take notice. Right now for some reason, not many people care about Palladium. Weird huh? Pd/Pt just don't stir the emotions like Au/Ag. Imagine if this was a Ag deposit with NPV 2 bill at ...more

do you own any genm position currently?

Yes. Without giving specific numbers, it is around 10% of my investable portfolio. Would like that to increase that a little, since it is one of my highest conviction positions, along with K92.

Me too!  I love these two companies and I am finding it hard to invest in anything else right now.

https://www.visualcapitalist.com/visualizing-the-life-cycle-of-a-mineral-discovery/ Where are we? Me I'd say we"re right on the upturn on the graph by entering the Development Stage! We just completed really the Feasibilty stage. Maybe I got that graph wrong wadda ya think?
Comment by IgnacioCashmere on Mar 10, 2021 9:47pm
That's how I see it. But how long until the permanent swing up is the question & a legitimate concern. We could trade sideways for a year. I have been in this less than a year, my patience isn't worn thin. For those who bought in years ago, the time for movement on that graph is now. It is warranted to say why does this particular stock not receive the valuations relative NPV that most ...more

Definitely a long term play but a solid play. Either way you look at this one of three things will happen. Sibanye may increase ownership to 51% or may buy outright, which I don't foresee, Sibanye retains 20% and GENM carries through to production; or number 3 , we get bought out at a good share value after Sibanye makes their decision public or anytime thereafter. Going to production seems ...more

Great mining exploration companies will eventually progress along the lassonde curve as they near development . Patience is needed but when things move they can move fast . Learned this lesson the hard way once before with Orla mining .( It is gold miner though ) Bought It around 1.00 in 2017  sold around 1.30 in 2019 because I became tired of waiting  for growth. Bad Move since it hit ...more
