Canada in a Depression with $70 oil.   

Yes, will get worse before it gets better.   

Triple digit oil prices when Depression ends.     

Another year or two is my guess.

Malx, 70 dollar oil is not the end of the world IMO. Look at Suncor, just hit debt target, 100% FCF goes to shareholders. Keeping the balance sheet light and fluffy for those lean months filled with $70 WTI Ditto Gamehost, balance sheet in good shape, ready for lean times. Funny thing is I have never been bummed by the typical business / commodity cycle, it is all part of the game.  The ...more

Nukester - Just pointing out how the oil market has changed the past 20yrs. Depression pricing for WTI was $35-45 a barrel. Now we stick to $70. Gotta wonder how oil markets will react when demand roars back and there's only modest new supply to fill that demand; even worse if middle east exports are disrupted.  OPEC will bring maybe 2mm barrels back but it won't be enough ...more
