JimmyBMinus - I don't disagree with you that it can take many testing cycles to bring to commercialize a product for use in OEM / Automotive.  Lightweighting structures need to be tested for safety first and foremost.  Automotive do a ton of QA/QC.  Martinrea is a world leader in making light weight products for Automotive.  It's their core business and expertise.

See their SDS on their freaking website (products/tds) its written and they confirmed that in their last FS. People cannot or dont wanna read.
