Options

The whole notion that an employee exercising options at any time equals bad is BS.

This is part of his comp plan. He is taxed on the difference between the option price and his sell. The trades were done in two deals, one open market and the other private. Nothing was dumped, all trades by one trade house to the same trade house. You have no idea if he sold or transferred to friendly hands. This was evident on the breakdown on what markets the shares traded that day. Stockwatch showed this.

GRA charged these options off as as an expense at some point in the past but no cash left the business. Now the cash comes back.

As for shorts, the short side decreased from End of Dec til the end of Jan. You can see this easily in Yahoo finance under statistics. Any remaining shorts are likely from much higher prices. Nobody shorts  such a thinly traded stock @ $2.00 trying to make .20

Nazempour (spelling?) purchased at $2.00 before year end. Why? To trick a bunch of retail saps into buying his stock, Martinrea's stock and Caisse de Depot's stock? This was him telling retailers that I am in don't worry.

Do not agree. Marinoccio should have kept at least part of his shares after he exercised his options. What kind of signal does it send when an insider sells all of the shares he has acquired through options at almost the lowest price in the last few years when management jawbones that everything is packaged for the financing we turkeys have been waiting for the last 12 months? I do not care about ...more

Rocco still owns 200k shares. You know and I know that execs will get more options. I don't know if they were expiring or not but it's his comp plan. Watch CEO and Martinrea (who he used to work for). Martinrea would take them over in a minute. Companies increasing their GM by 30% are rare. $3 million shortfall from a striking customer translates to almost $600k in gross profit for future ...more

NorthernTaco, I don't give two shakes of a lamb's tail how many NanoXplore shares Mr. Rocco Marinaccio still has. Mr. Rocco Marinaccio can take a long walk of a short pier for all I care. In my opinion, he's a greedy bugger who only thinks for himself and went out of his way to outright stick it to NanoXplore "minority" equities investors. Jesus, Joseph and Mary! What a ...more

Only reason I own this stock is because of Martinrea's interest. Think they would allow an offering if it wasn't a good move? The short answer is no. They would buy the company outright. End of story.

NorthernTaco, You stated "Only reason I own this stock is because of Martinrea's interest. Think they would allow an offering if it wasn't a good move? The short answer is no. They would buy the company outright. End of story." To Hades with Martinrea International Inc. Martinrea International does not control NanoXplore and likely would never be allowed to outright control ...more

The only reason i own this stock is because of Soroush. Martinrea? Seriously? The stock was worth 14.$ in 2003.....Still worth 14.$ today, 20 years later!  so i hope for god's sake that Soroush can break out of MRE ´s mold even though he is surrounded by current and previous management members of MRE.

I don't know Souresh, but I do know MRE. Billion dollar global manufacturer decides they want to be the largest shareholder. Interests me.

I am not going to knock Martinrea International. I think it's a decent company and Rob Wildeboer certainly is savvy enough when it comes to the automotive parts and components manufacturing and supply industry - I am sure Frank Stronach had a lot to do with that, eh. That being said, what the flock of seagulls has Martinrea International done for NanoXplore lately? Has Martinrea introduced any ...more

What does you "sitting in Mexico eating tacos, drinking cerveza and posting on a bull board" have to do with the price of tea in China NorthernTaco? Is your name Rocco Marinaccio . . .

You win, I'm going back to the yahoo finance bull board. There is a real a hole over there that makes me laugh.

Hi, 1Student: You seem to be suggesting that some larger GRA holders are holding a sizable position, and simultaneously selling shares against their position thereby somehow making money at the expense of other, smaller shareholders. Why is this any different from simply reducing some of ones holdings, then hopefully buying it back at a lower price, taking down the average cost of the position but ...more

As far as i am concerned,  his sales did not have any impact on the financial position of the company. It is the optics that concerns me. He is a member of top management and sells at one of the lowest price  in the last 5 years, while company IR tells us great news are coming soon for VoltaXplore, wich is THE news that will move the scale and stock price for GRA. I am not being overly ...more

Will101, You stated "his sales did not have any impact on the financial position of the company." Obviously you mean his sales did not presently negatively impact the financial position of the company. Although previously, when those option were placed aside for issuance to insiders, NanoXplore's balance sheet certainly experienced the adjustment and we NanoXplore "minority ...more

lire1, Whe I utilize the words pledging shares, it doesn't mean that such tranches of shares ever have to be sold by the pledging parties. You have to ask why it is that I haven't ever sold short any equity and yet know something about how more savvy institutional investors and their clients go about ensuring their respective short positions can be covered quite easily by way of pledges ...more

Northern Taco, You stated "The whole notion that an employee exercising options at any time equals bad is BS." First, your strawman argument is intended to deflect from the obvious. Those options weren't just exercised and the shares derived therefrom were not sold to just antbody at any old time. It was leading up to and just before the public dissemination of Q2/2024 financials ...more
