It is head-shaking to ponder not putting the 70 million

earmarked for their exploration program into buying back 1/3 of their shares. Spend the money next year instead. That would increase NPV per share by 50%, Same 50% cashflow per share etc. In short it would creat shareholder value by 50% and make any exploration success 50% more valuable. Think of that. Shareprice 12 vs 8 or rushing out to spend big time in exploration when they have plenty of reserves.

Couldn't agree more.  At this price buying back shares is the only sensible use of capital.   Not sure what agreements to spend are required to hold acreage though, may have some part to play. Too many oil companies think their job is to produce more oil, and aren't sophisticated enough to understand you can grow PRODUCTION PER SHARE another, cheaper way.   ...more

This price is equivalent of 80 cents before. Sickening. This price level is covid level price level. It is less then pre-covid.  I have oil companies that produce 5K barrels and have bigger market caps then this that producers 30K per day.  Sickening.

Oil Price Hedges: Gran Tierra does not currently have any oil price hedges in place and expects to fully benefit from any increases in oil prices. Just shaking my head.  I just don' t understand. What did happened here? I wasn't following full time here, but but I can't figure out why? Anybody has any take on this?  Is this because of gangsters in Columbia?  Can't ...more
