You are getting compensated for waiting as buybacks are tax free dividends. You could sell the equivalent number of shares. We're average buybacks this year of 4-5%. In theory, if the company was paying dividends, the share price would likely be lower than the current $5

Well said. This team ran the business for 19 years the first time and they never once offered a dividend. That simply isn't in their DNA. Are they looking at acquisitions of depressed assets right now? Absolutely. Will they strike a deal or a few deals? Depends if they can find desperate sellers. That's the game here.  Grow the business organically while searching out value add
