Randal there seems to be a buzz about this stock on CJ and BNE boards. Been researching Eric Nuttal examing his fund and he is on a streak of good luck. What I noticed was both The Seven Generation and ARC Resources before there merger were in his fund so he might have his ear to the ground? Makes me think more about his two latest fund inclusions with Cardinal Energy and Gear Energy. Need to look

There is absolutely no chance CJ and GXE will merge or one will buy the other. The person who started the rumors on both the CJ and BNE boards is an idiot. I would not fall for this pumping....

I am not saying they will or wont as I dont know but I am curious why you think they wont? My research suggests small market cap energy stocks are looking for mass to create relevance. Why would that not include either GXE or CJ?  I am also surprised at the hostility to the idea by some posters as I think M&A would be a good thing for the sector as a whole and especially the small caps

I agree that the future for Canadian O&G is consolidation as the stronger absorb the weak. I believe that it remains a buyers market and the premiums paid will not be too juicy for the seller. What I am saying is more likely: Well predicting mergers is always just that a prediction...if Gear Energy is too merge with any company I think it will be Petrus Resources. Gear and Petrus are run by the same Chairman Don Gray....he also own alot of Peyto. Sure he could merge Petrus into Peyto but
