..over a $1 dollar stock with a .01 Div....If you really are up against it, why not just SELL, and move into something more fitting.? THere are a myriad of them out there, plenty to choose from, nobody at Gear is holding you from seeking out other ops.

GXE's free cash flow calculation to cover the dividend is based on WTI at $80 and WCS at $62 or above. WCS is nowhere near that level at the moment. That's a problem that anyone holding this stock or thinking about buying this stock should be aware of.

please answer a very simple question how long can Gear operrate with WCS below $62???  at what point is divi in trouble... Keep in mind we are only in the second month of this... So how long??

Gear can probably operate for a long time with WCS currently in the $45 range. The problem is the dividend cannot continue indefinitely at the current price of WTI and WCS.  Gear's Q4 news release will be on February 22. If the price of oil rebounds significantly by then, great, no worries. If it is still about the same as today, management will likely be saying something about the ...more

ha, ha, ...yeah, I see what you did there ! ...always wanted to use that phraseology..  Seriously though, there may be justification certainly , esp if the Futures for WTI and WCS stayed low for an extended period....as into perhaps the 2nd Quarter.  Nice to see the run-up today in WTI and esp., Brent which seems to be holding at this point...c'mon WTI Futures Traders ....wake-up!& ...more

  The prices quoted for dividend sustainment are on a yearly average, not daily, hourly, whatever spot prices. The BOD  must make short term dividend decisions on a monthly basis to either pay from free cash, cash reserves, credit line or to suspend any dividend payment for that month on a temporary basis. The BOD can also choose to raise, lower or eliminate the dividend altogether. ...more

 Yes they can...Oil would need to avg. $57 for the entire 4th quarter to get a year end avg. of $80.  And at $80 they have a surplus. Stop babbling...

Well...if you really must know...I sold my 2 strip malls about 2 years ago (missed the high but hppy with what I got) and now have 2 pubs, and a few restaurants. how about you? Did you finish the renos in your mom's basement?
