Dividend Distress

The angst over the dividend is premature. Even at $78 WTI, the WCS discount has shrunk by $10/ bbl. At $10 x 3,000 bbl/d x 30 days = $900,000/ mo in incremental cash flow. If Don Gray and Ingram Gillmore are okay with current dividend policy, its okay with me.

GXE will be extremely volatile in the short term. Capital inflows come down to the small caps only after the bigger names have rerated AND the stock is derisked. It will happen but the volatility will still allow swing traders to profit until generalist investors return. The derisking of GXE is inexorably tied to a confident dividend continuance in attracting the generalist sector, both institutional and retail income investors.

Be patient, the real profit is in the waiting.

Yeah, pretty much how its going now but an intersection of supply and demand factors can create volatility greater than the manipulators' risk tolerance is able to control.
