When HBM originally took control of the Rosemont Arizona property much of the capital had already been committed to, much of it was subsquently written off ... What an opportunity to take the zero book value assets sitting at Hudbay a upping the through put at CMMC, finally a use for the cpaital that has been frozen out for many years,,, Benefits not only HBM shareholders but CMMC that believe in the copper story...

CMMC Q1 numbers do not support a $4 share price... They need HBM as much as HBM need an asset in Canada...

Agree. Combination is growth strategy! Hudbay,,,  a good merger for all with growth in more than one jurisdition. Everyone on takeovers expect more. I have only seen it happen one time in my mining porfolio but never been disapointed in the long term potential for mergers like this one. Small fry compared to Teck but good upside growth together.  We'll see what the Penguins

If you listen to the conference call on the combination, they talk about the capital they can deploy from the original purchase of Rosemont. If you go through the management reports from 2015 there has been a significant write down in that asset. I know one year earlier on they identified specific assets but the last couple of write downs were driven by the risk of realizing any sort of value
