This stock is worth a lot more if a big investor or a bunch of retail investors decide to short squeeze the short sellers like what happened with GameStop recently. The stock price went from $2.57 to $365 in a few weeks.  https://www.forbes.com/sites/antoinegara/2021/01/26/the-hedge-fund-genius-who-started-gamestops-4800-rally-now-calls-it-unnatural-insane-and-dangerous/?sh=1fdb2171303b

Yeah, very deep thinking. Gamestop's short float was > 100% of shares outstanding while Home Cap is like 2%. I often wonder if  people even think when they post garbage like that.

Between 1 and 1.5 million shares of home capital group shares are shorted at any given time. Given that the average traded volume is around 100k it would take a few weeks to cover them but if and only if  existing longs cooperate but we all know that if they don’t and some big funds decide to apply pressure by boosting their purchased volume combined with a substantial Issuer bid from Home ...more

Emotion based blah blah without looking at the numbers and facts.  1: It's not 100K per day, it's 300 (and that's light) 3X what you claim it is 2.  It does not take 4-5 weeks which is 16-20 days to cover 841k shares on 300k shares/day volume.  It's less than 3 days.  Not 16-20. Can you please "up your game" and think in terms of facts and numbers ...more

You seem to project your emotions on me because you know deep inside that I am right and your CAPS to make it clear won't change facts in your favor. Facts are facts. So let's talk math and logic : Short sellers borrow shares that they don't own based on the assumption that when prices will go down (with their help of course by selling 100 shares at a time at lower and lower ...more

Yassine, In my book I think there are what I call "normal" shorts and "Dhortie" shorts. The Dhortie shorts are the ones that in my opinion are gaming and manipulating the short.  There may one or a few die hard dhorties lingering around here but by and large that game here is done and they are covering and moving on. They have gone off to get their arses squeezed to ...more

Hi Canader, agreed there are short sellers who use short selling to hedge other long positions and some that collide and organize short and distort bear raids. Although they covered most of their positions we don’t know for sure the real picture of who owns the shares. Let us imagine just for the sake of it that turtle asset management, rabbit speed money and bullet proof cash investment funds ...more

I think that sentence sums up the difference between how our minds work.  Yours works as mentioned above.  Mine works like this:  2+2 = 4. I guess we will agree to disagree at this point, as we certainly do not see things the same way.   Cheers.

Maybe ... but maybe it's not quite that simple (and maybe both reality and modelled realty are at play). What Yassine is calling out is also supported by some actual facts - the active presence of silly trade quantities, especially at the end of the day, the presence of people like Citadel actively as buyer and seller at certain times of the day (I have a hard time believing they and the other ...more

Hi pebble, short sellers get really triggered when someone tries to expose their tactics and spread the word about the reality of market manipulation. Three years I posted this video that was easily found on YouTube. Now I had to really dig deep to find it and it has been posted 5 days ago so watch it before they take it down.  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8DJlogbrDcA
