SIB

How does this trade below 43.50?
with the SIB it's a lock

They are only buying back $300 million, so if things are really ugly, and everyone tenders their shares, you will only get a $43.50 for a portion. (Or were you just being funny?) I bought more today, and won't tender anything. If there's one thing we have learned over the past couple of years, no virus is slowing down this housing market.

If everybody tenders you'll get $43.50 and only 12% of your stock redeemed. I'm waiting for the corporate document on the SIB. Last time if you tendered shares from a cash account the tax treatment was terrible as it was a deemed dividend based on over PUC amount, you would most like be best off selling your shares and taking a capital gain. I will likely tender my shares in my TFSA and ...more

The tax treatment will likely be the same as before.   it's highly unlikely all would tender so to make 5% in a few weeks on whatever they take at 43.50 based on today's close is a good move, in my opinion

Buy in your RRSP or TFSA. Sell to SIB, Easy monneeey. Avoid taxes in cash accounts. GLTA cept Dhorties of course!

I got the notice today to tender but i wanna keep some and its taxable acct. Is it too late to buy from my tfsa after this weekend and tender for a profit?

Info has to reach Home Capital by 5pm(EST) Dec 21st. Your broker will have an earlier cut off. So you should check with your broker. You are cutting it close,  TFSA usually not that big, if you miss the window. No biggy, IF you read the SIB you will notice that they intend to start an NCIB once the SIB is done. Last time around that was right after the SIB. As in days after. Regards

I do more zeroes, but anyways,... For a profit of 200$ low risk registered account trade. buy 99 shares $HCG before DEC 16th and tender it to the Dutch auction and ask 43.50$ for them (deadline is Dec 21th but a lot of firms need instruction way in advance, always check with them for the deadline ) "Buy" means settled trade! So Dec 14th for the buy. After that and until the 21st you ...more

What are the odds that required shares have already been spoken for and new investors will be stuck with shares without any dividends at this point. \ Also, is there a possibility that the share price will rise above the minimum level and some investors will be required to sell their shares below the share price.  Two interesting scenarios that I will be watching for.
Comment by canader on Dec 13, 2021 10:34am
Yup, Will be interesting, Cause if the the other tenderers are like me, they will be buying the shares back over the coming months.
Comment by wildrunner11 on Dec 13, 2021 7:22pm
I bought some more share today, and will put all my shares to tender in my tfsa/rrsp except for a few hundred share and put those in for 48.50 cause just in case someone has to but Pretty sure shares will be over tendered and go for 43.50. Question is how many over tendered? Can't believe with the SIB the shares are only at $40ish.
