Stock price and div

This management doesn't seem to realize that ncib and sib is not going to help move the stock higher. Start a dividend like other financial institution. Abt half of their earnings should go towards dividend. They have no clue what they gonna do with their excess cash except buy backs..

True, but with stock price and BV being close they see good value in share buyback with the NCIB, hoping the buy back the current dip. The dividend should squeeze the short sellers. I'm really happy to see a dividend but was hoping around 0.20 not 0.15, it is low, only a div yield of 1.5% ish,  would like a div yield around 3%. It is a start.

1. It doesn't matter if the stock price isn't moving higher. IF they keep doing NCIB and SIB, over time the long term shareholders will still profit. They will still own large and larger fractions of the company, and will receive larger eventual dividend payouts 2. They did start a dividend...

I disagree somewhat on the method of getting stock price higher. Dividend yield does matter. They spend over 600mil in buybacks. If they spend half of that in div stock would have been higher. And also give shareholders the choice of buying shares or not. Thanks
