Smith Financial To Acquire Home Capital Group For $44 Per Sh

Home Capital Group is going private. The firm this morning revealed that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Smith Financial Corporation, which is controlled by Stephen Smith.

Nice! Been holding for years average 13.50.  Ever since that pig farmer was shorting the stock (remember him LOL). Disappointed that Buffet didn't buy this but still a sale.  For shame to those who ridculed me for holding this instead of a bank stock.  May sell at 42.25 to get into other stocks if there are other opportunities before the closing date. Congrats longs!

Congrats. I, too, was a shareholder in May 2017 when that failed-hedge-fund-manager-turned-pig farmer shorted the stock down to under $6. I averaged down back then and got out with a decent profit, then got back in and out later. Just a lesson to anybody that listens to the mainstream media: they are very capable of manipulating a stock price. Everybody jumped on the shorter's bandwagon except ...more
