I wish ... with a 40% premium like MEG sharholders would be welcomed! Sadly, if it didn't happen in the recent oil price downturn it will certaintly not happen now.  I am not sure what Ottawa would say regarding foreign ownership.  Also, it appears more beneficial to the majority to use the 30% of the market cap held publically by paying a small dividend, then to buy it out ...more

Minority sharehodlers would sell out at a good price....I would say $25 CAD.   Second,  I believe Li Ka-Shing will now scrap the MEG takeover.   I also believe that Peabody is now in trouble even though this recent spill is entirely weather related.   The media is KILLING us.
