Saudi government will collapse if oil war continues: Analyst

Pavel Molchanov, Raymond James director.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zU1fA-g91lU  He says Saudis need $80 a barrel to balance their fiscal requirements.  At $30 a barrel, the Saudi economy will collapse.  Aramco is a public co. and does the Crown Prince want to explain the massive losses to the shareholders?  Probably not.   Most of the Saudi economy is based off of oil.  The Saudis will probably blink first.  Russian can't last a long time either.  Putin will probably change face after a constitutional referendum on April 27 and things will be back to normal, but Putin is not going to want to look weak to voters before the referendum.

even though saudis has excess foreign reserves, most are tied up in foreign real estate and stock market which have declined quite a bit recently. oil and gas revenue make up 40% russia's federal budget.  whacking 50% off the price of crude oil will create a 20% budget shortfall, a significant impact. https://www.trtworld.com/europe/how-oil-prices-impact-russia-s-economy-22067 Seem ...more
