Like the KING the dividend has arrived $$$$$$$$$

It is almost hard to believe when banks are giving .05 interest that this would pay such a huge amount of money,,,,, cha ching.....!

almost 9% yield on preferreds, either the price shoud double or we may see it going private sooner than later

Why do you think Husky cares about the price of the preffereds?  For them it's the same fixed amount paid quarterly.  Preferreds could trade half their actual price, it wouldn't change a thing from  the company's perspective.  Please explain

Matters if company wanted to raise more capital by issuing more Preferreds.    With yields of 9-10%.... that's not really an option available to them.

The Great Thing is the amount HSE needs to pay is/has gone down to Rock Bottom.  For example the rate on the A's is 1.73% plus 5 year government Bond Yield.   So, probably it will only cost HSE around 2%.    All of the Cost for the Preferreds have/are going down for HSE. Yet at the same time, current shareholders are getting 9-10% yields!!!!    Just CRAZY. ...more

AQgain talking numbers is cheap but to actually see the funds credited to your account is just mind blowing when the bank pays nothing. it's gonna be a nice ride!

So then the way I understand the Preferred G's will pay this dividend for 5 years?
Comment by RagingBull3 on Oct 05, 2020 11:38am
Yes, as I understand it as it just reset.   Next Reset, I'm expecting the Dividend Rate to be much higher....as such, the Dividend to be much more.   Just CRAZY.   All just my opinion.

"Holders of Series 7 Shares who choose to retain any or all of their shares will receive the new fixed-rate quarterly dividend applicable to the Series 7 Shares for the five-year period commencing June 30, 2020 to, but excluding, June 30, 2025 of 3.935%, being equal to the sum of the Government of Canada five-year bond yield of 0.415% plus 3.52% in accordance with the terms of the Series 7 ...more

Thanks.    As you can see, the 5 yr bond yield of 0.415% is basically virtually ROCK BOTTOM.  Really, who the hell would buy a bond with a yield of 0.415%????  That's worse than some bank savings account!!!!    This is completely manipulated by the Bank of Canada.     If left to the Market, the Rate would Rocket up.     I'm ...more

Husky or rating agency has nothing do with setting the rates.   Rates are based on only 2 things.  Fixed rate plus 5 year Bond Yield.     With that said, news out that Yields moved up.   https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/u-s-stocks-gain-most-in-almost-4-weeks-yields-rise-1.1503524 But fully expect Bank of Canada to push them back down....and hold them down for ...more

Husky or rating agency has nothing do with setting the rates.   Rates are based on only 2 things.  Fixed rate plus 5 year Bond Yield. I'm not sure you understand how rate setting works.  The number that gets added to the 5 year bond yield doesn't just come from the tooth fairy - the board sets that 30 days before the reset date, and they have a careful balancing act ...more

That's the CANADIAN GOVERNMENT 5 Year Bond Yield.... you should skim over the prospectus.   I don't think anyone else thinking what you are thinking.
