$$$$$ CASH being Deposited into BANK $$$$$ definitely real.   You can take it out, hold it, smell it, tast it, and SPEND it.   LOL..

I sold some Gs today (25% of my holding), they are yielding only 6.75% at the moment.  I switched it to ENB commons for a 7.89% yield.  You have to consider that for the preferreds you will never have dividend increases, while I'm confident that a 5 to 7% increase yearly of the divi is possible in a stock like ENB.

5.75% not 6.75%

ummmm, I think you are incorrect on "never have dividend increases".   These are Reset Preferreds.  Every 5 years they reset.  If rates go up (we are sitting at "effective lower bound"), then Dividends go up.   For the G's, you have to remember that they resetted at basically when rates were at "effective lower bound".... Short Term, you will probably see small increase in Dividends across the market.   Cost of Debt hit Rock Bottom.   This low rate inviorment will give a short term boost to the entire market, but if rates continue to be low, this will drag down the earnings across the market.   Then Dividends/yields will decrease.    That is why Debt prices have gone through ...more

You re right, I misphrased my thoughts.  The Gs are 5 years interest rates average +3.52.  But I don't see that average at reset at more than 2%.  But who knows... In fact I was just saying that at 17$ it's a lot less interesting to own than it was at 10-12$ considering other options.  So I sold a portion

Yes, I understand.    Most of my Preferreds yielding ~16% when I got them.   So you can imagine I have the same thoughts.....   But my Tin Foil Hat is telling me to HOLD and get ready for the possible $25.     This is only for Husky Preferreds due to the transaction.... so not planning to sell and move to other Preferreds or oil company yet.    ...more

Buyers snapped them up pretty quick.   G's continue powering up.    Anyways, if oil keep going up, most likely you'll get a Bigger Bang for the Buck playing the Commons.
Comment by Husky4000 on Dec 18, 2020 1:40pm
I am full loaded on commons and don't plan to sell. I'm gonna ride this oil cycle.  Maybe sell the warrants at 8$  and 5% of my CVE at 14$.
