That's correct. My question is if we trade uvxy US....how is that taxed. I have never traded a US stock

A US trading account is new for me too. I would imagine it is trading as usual, except US $ gains will produce more Can $ at the end because of the rates of exchange. Once you are done with a stock, the funds are converted into Canadian money and %50 of your gains will go to your income tx report for that year. Same for any losses. Losses has to be filed every year. I gather so many losses ...more

Ok...thanks for that DS. Your a better man than me. I give my accountant the CIBC trade schedule for the year and he goes through and figures out all the gains/loss.....for $100.  For that amount of money...I'd rather he do it than me logging 10 or so trades a day...I hate paperwork....lol  He does the same thing...spreadsheet. Yeah...I got my share of losses to use up also...lol  ...more

That's pretty good.  I use to use TD until CIBC came out with Investor Edge/MarketLense and the best transaction fee at the time.  MarketLense is amazing.   So much chart info...I believe it deserves the credit for some of the price points I pick...coming in a few pennies off the tops and bottoms on a trade.  I think TD has caught up and based on the info you provided. ...more
