Results

looks disappointing to me. What's the point in managing the downturn well and having a pile of cash if you are literally going to do nothing but let it erode? Will be very interested to hear the conference call. Might trim my position. Nothing to inspire me at all. Looks like a virtual certainty that nothing is going to happen in 2021.

Interesting.....I found the results to be positive and 2021 indications to be encouraging. As travel restrictions within PNG ease, drilling should re-start sometime this year. Canadian operations are relatively strong given the market conditions. The company is coming out of the pandemic with an excellent balance sheet and in a position of strength as compared to its peers. In my opinion the cash ...more

A general rule for life - Do Not Argue with SHARKS, especially from the AVALON. Other points to consider. Second word in the comments isection s positive. "Utilization of the Corporation’s Concord Well Servicing fleet in Western Canada was 44% in the Quarter versus industry utilization of 30% (source: Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors “CAODC”) and increased 16% over Q3 ...more

It is all about the outlook. Canadian operations recovering before PNG. Lots of talk about new opportunities. Also divvies returning and share buybacks. Enough here to hold my interest.Anyone see Trican well services lately? I expect the same here.

I am probably expecting too much, too soon and being too bearish. But why do you keep thinking this "As travel restrictions within PNG ease, drilling should re-start sometime this year." Oil search has put it in writing they are doing no drilling this year. I understand there is other customers but do you have any actual evidence they are guiding anything different than oil search? 2022 ...more

Not too thrilled about results either - quite a mixed bag in fact. Unfortunately, this stock is a laggard. We'll be waiting as Miguel suggests until at least 2022 for any meaningful return. Most others in the sector have already had their V-shaped recoveries while HWO has not. Someone mentioned TCW - they are already trading above BV. Conversely, HWO is currently trading at less than half BV. ...more

I completely agree. You brought up a good point about q4 being the nadir. This is something not to be overlooked. The most bearish time for OFS companies is/was q4 2020 and q1 2021. The direction of spending/guidance for pruducers is only going to go one direction from here. Up. So I am forcing myself to look big picture here.

I dont know if anyone here was able to join the call. These were my important takeaways: 1.  Mike clearly mentioned that suspension of drilling activity in PNG is directly related to travel restrictions. In March everything stopped while they were in the middle of drilling activity. The activity was stopped midway because covid related safety protocols had to be implemented. As restrictions ...more

Great update Avalonshark. Much appreciated and evidently much to look forward to.

Thanks Avalon. I missed the cc and they still haven't uploaded transcript or replay.... What I am unclear on is what kind of contracts they will have for drilling once travel resumes. What is simply production maintence and what is exploration, etc. Oil search said no exploration in 2021 but they also said they are conducting seismic in 2021 with obvious intentions to do more drilling in the ...more

https://ca.movies.yahoo.com/edited-transcript-hwo-earnings-conference-170000565.html Q- Would you say that the -- that there's a suspension of travel that is the major cause currently of the continued suspension of drilling? I appreciated the link as the phone replay is not available. I can see your reasons for optomism. Lots of info in this call
