Will be interesting to see if that 23k buy was an insider.. the minuscule 5k buy from Maguire yesterday does not move the needle

Maguire's purchases have been lacklustre considering his comments on the previous earnings call. I went back through the SEDI report for insider buying and came to the conclusion that I have bought more shares than he has both on a YTD basis as well as over the past two years! Unless the upcoming offer is a truly significant one (at least worth $3.50 per share), all of the previous buybacks ...more

Good comments regarding the buybacks.  In regards to insiders buying oor selling, I would think that all insiders would be in a blackout period and forbidden from selling or buying unless they have a firm trading plan previously arranged. I would appreciate thoughts on this.

The issue is that on the last earnings call, Mike specifically called out the share price and said now that he was out of a blackout period he looked forward to being able to buy shares because he thought the stock was undervalued.  He could enter into an automated purchase program; however, unless I am reading the SEDI report incorrectly, his purchases are not from an automated purchase ...more

Yes I understand Q end blackouts until earnings are announced however the company is (presumably) in the middle of negotiations to finalize the details of the new arrangement that was announced in a news release - PNG into private company, capital return +++. IMO it would be inappropriate to trade on that knowledge. Insider trading is by definition, trading on knowledge that is not in the public ...more

Dude, With whom do you think the company is negotiating with? Cyrus? If Maguire continues to buy openly, perhaps it is indicative that the company is not negotiating with Cyrus and the BOD intends to take (or at least propose to take) the PNG ops private notwithstanding current sentiment.

Jon, I think they are at least internal "negotiations" going on however maybe it's not the best choice of words. Let's say they are "working out the details" and so they know more than we do. That's my point. For instance, where will the private company be incorporated? The jurisdiction could be a big issue in regards to minority shareholders rights.Anyway ...more
