I-80 Gold Corp > My 2 Cents..

My 2 Cents..

not that it matters but i will share my opinion ..

I have been a shareholder since the Premier takeover. I bought Premier in the lows of covid (early 2020) and made a decent return on it. one thing i realized early was that my bet paid off not due to alpha presented by the mgmt of company or their efforts but purely due to market recovery and gold spike. The sum of parts of premier were just more than what the value was when i bought it.... i sold most of my holding before buyout (enough that remaining was past point of concern ... house money).. i received some equinox shares plus i80 shares for a free holding...

When buyout happened i DID not increase my position in I-80. I refrained from increasing my position till earlier this year when the stock fell substantially. i again only did this because i thought sum of parts of i80 were too valuable and market was again presenting a good opportunity. my initial buy this year was under $2 CAD.

however, unfortunately a week after i bought Mr. CEO decided to do a big 100 million raise in a rising gold market. I DID Not understand why he would do that considering the company already raised sub 25+ million $ 2 months prior. In hindsight now i know.....

furthermore again unfortunately for me in this downturn and change of mgmt i started looking at the company again about a month ago. Mr. Young is definitely a reputable individual in the industry and has proven track record. Terranga did extremely well under his helm and he DID Provide ALPHA that was lacking. so.... i decided this was the turning point and under $1.5 CAD the market was presenting a gift. I loaded onto my minute position which was extremely underweight in my portfolio to equal weigh in last 2 weeks (i tripled my position). My timing couldnt be worse with this company.... what can i say... twice i have been burnt...

Conclusion is x mgmt of this company was extremely incompetent and my belief there was no doubt correct and holding off on buying was the right move.. i am extremely disappointed with myself like most of you that i didnt hold myself from buying more recently. i should have waited to see the plan.. impatience...

i will hold these shares in the hope that Mr. Young can turn this around like what he did with Terranga and one day i get my money back and hopefully more. My avg cost is just under $1.5 CAD (down almost 60%). it will definitely take a few years... GLTA!

My position is  nearly  identical to yours,  my recent  increase in  position  a result  of  the  comments  made  by Mng  and  the   alnalyist reports   posted  on the  CIBC website....  Canacord  dated  less than a  month ago. Had I not read those targets  I was  about to ...more

Clearly, Ewan outright lied on the Rocks and Stocks video about the JV.  I can't believe the load of manure that he spewed out of his mouth.  Definitely deserves to be investigated.

"At least Young was smart enough to show Gollat the door.  I agree with other posters, that Young seems to be attempting to right the ship.  But I think it is just too far gone." Like I said earlier, if Young can pull this off, he will have earned every cent of his paycheque. He does have connections in the industry. So we will need to see if those will come through for him ...more

Just read through Taylor Dart's review of the conference call. Summing it up - tough times, but doable. If you've lost $25k on this and want to get his view on this, a 1 month subscription would get you access to it for ~$40 and might give you some much needed perspective. (Not a paid endorsement LOL!)

He was pumping this debacle just a few short months ago.

Aside from Mr. Young having good credibility and capable of directing the plan I have to wonder if a reverse split is in the works? I also have to wonder why someone would not make an offer on the company. Perhaps potential suitors will wait to see how the new leadership moves forward? No doubt the resource is first class just past leadership has failed so there is little doubt a mine will be ...more

There is NO "intrinsic value" when you have NO clue about cost.  No one was "fooled" they're just plain stupid The bagholders at CEO.CA love to talk about the "assets" and "resources" and cannot grasp that they are worth NOTHING until you know their value and you can't know their value until you know the COST

How do the  shorts  pay you, %  of profits? The  only thing  that has  changed  with IAU  is the  share price,  everything  else is the  same as it  was  last week / month .

Which was what?  The FACTS which you seem immune to are....CEO fired, delisting likely, admission of a going concern, JV walks away, need for massive dilution on the table, lawsuits coming, share price down 60% prohibiting any non loan shark debt financing etc etc  Did it occur to you that this price is more accurate vs, the price last week?
Comment by patientoldguy on Nov 15, 2024 9:36am
No I am with metalhead here. they are burning cash with no signs of financing.  Strategic appointment means they will sell to cap losses.  at best there is much more dilution. taking a 75% loss on this one. any recovery is likely a dead cat bounce.

I'm in the same boat. Take a hit and move on. I do like risk so I will keep half my holdings in case there is a wild card buyer as I see some other small caps with good upside in the 50-60 cent range. I-80 Great project but shareholders were misled up until October. The project is outstanding no qustion about that fact. New management with Mr. Yonge have credentials and team to make it better, ...more

Can this go bankrup? Wipe out all shareholder and re-issue more?  Market cap is now good, but what they are going to do?

I think it is  mirroring the  MOZ situation  pre kowledge of the  CMB deal.... MOZ continually  uder  pressure to finance the ongoing  cash shortfall... exactlly  where the  oportunistic  banks  wanted placemnets to be  priced.... This  lead to an oportunistic  rescue offer  from  CMB  via  stock ...more

MOZ had a feasibility study,  great grade, was under construction and it still went bust.  This is way worse at I80

Any financing...if it's even possible...will be at loan shark rates. They are already in default so it's highly unlikely anyone is going to enter any deals with them unless they offer up half the farm for free. The only other option would be share offerings...GL with that!  To build the autoclave as a penny stock would require selling a BILLION SHARES!  Every share offering only ...more
