could/should we sell McCoy property?

Hi bullboard watchers/posters
We know I-80 needs more capital and if you own any I 80 shares we don't want massive share dilution. So what are your opinions on selling the Mccoy property? It is geographically removed from the rest of our assets so perhaps management should shop it around. I am certainly no mining expert, nor a finance expert so if anyone who has more knowledge than me on why selling McCoy is a good or bad idea, I would like to hear what you have to say.
The topics I think we should discuss are: "Is there a market for McCoy? If so, who would be the potential buyer and what might they be willing to pay for the asset? Are there any loan convenants that would prevent the sale of McCoy (or any other legal road block)? What oportunities are we giving up if we were to sell McCoy? If we don't want to sell Mccoy how else can I 80 be recapitalized (without massive dilution)?
Looking forward to read what you have to say especially since some of you probably have way more technical knowledge than me.

Big mistake on my previous post. Instead of saying we should/could sell the McCoy property I meant to say the Ruby Hill/fad property. Ruby Hill is the property that is much further away from the concentration of the other assets. I was doubting myself that I had mentioned the correct mine so I searched the net and found a map which indeed showed me that it is Ruby Hill that is not closeby. So the ...more

there likely will be selling of one or more of the properties...I am sure that is on the table but before any selling I look for a buyout first allowing the buyer to sell fringe assets instead of IAU....now go MSU Bobcats in the FCS championship game today...btw Montana Tech in Butte has an excellant mining school as well as Tommy Mellott the QB of the Bobcats....best to all of you in 2025...I ...more

Not going to sell any stand alone assets unless they are of big enough scale to build a mill or close enough to truck ore to an existing mill.  The whole reason behind the autoclave was to have multiple mines feeding it.  Highly unlikely anyone is going to buy one project far from home and the big miners aren't interested in anything that doesn't move the needle for them....that& ...more

all the more reason for a buyout of the whole company...perhaps before the March deadline...will it be a Japanese company?  Sumimoto?
Comment by tallpaul on Jan 06, 2025 4:39pm
Hello goldstd My understanding is that Sumimoto, or is it sumitomo, generally likes to be a minority partner when it gets into mining ventures. But I am by no means on expert on sumitomo. Mr Young, headed up Argonaut gold for a very short time and ended up selling argonaut's only really good asset (the greenstone mine) to Aalamos Gold. Luckily I had plugged my nose jumped deep into the ...more

Good day Metalhead and other readers You have a point that there has to be enough ore to buiild a processing plant or truck the ore to an already existing plant that is nearby. That is why, if I recall correctly, the three mines that were projected to feed the refurbished the autoclave did NOT include McCoy. Perhaps I am wrong on this and I don't currently have time to go back and reread what ...more

Fair enough but you're nit picking.  McCoy could be sold as you correctly state ...in a fire sale.  Everyone who is anyone knows the trouble I80 is in. They will pick its bones clean but that's not going to help you much.  I just can't fathom why anyone would risk money on this when there are so many risk plays you could pick with far more clarity  SKE had news ...more

Hello metalhead I can't fathom why the post so much about I 80 unless you are short I 80. Or are you that concerned about the financial welfare of all of us iau longs? We will see in less than 3 months if Mr Young and his team can put some financing together without completely destroying shareholder value. I will check out your tickers, thanks.

Heh Metalhead I very, very briefly checked out your tickers. I thought SKE was skeena resources so I did know a little bit about it. Sounds like SKE is going to need a lot of financing on a go forward basis so they may have IAU problems. Also enviromental issues might drag things down. I was completely ignorant of PPTA and indeed, at first glance it does have some appeal. The anitmony aspect is ...more

Well the easy money has been made in both.  I was pumping SKE at $3 and PPTA at $4.  SKE if fully financed with one of the best packages I've ever seen.  If you have to gamble on some miners these 2 will double from here over time but aren't cheap anymore given the runs they've had. The best value out there is TGB Taseko ....fully funded copper project in Arizona which ...more

But I'd be more concerned with a "market" crash at this point taking everything lower.  It's not a low risk time to be buying anything
